PROJECT DETAILS: This was a final project for a college course. We were asked to create a video to include on a landing page for a company looking to advertise themselves. The video needed to have footage shot by us, music, a displayed logo for the company, and it needed to be thirty (30) seconds long. I was able to choose my company for this project, so I chose a local rabbit shelter.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS: After getting permission to film on-site at the local rabbit shelter, I started to create my storyboards which were essential to this project. I needed to ensure I had proper flow from the beginning to the end of the video as I was not asked to include a voiceover for this project--imagery was everything.
It took some time to find music that conveyed the emotions of hope and happiness that I wanted, and after I had everything timed together I added clean transistions between frames. One of the bigger challenges was to keep the video within the timeframe of thiry seconds in length, which meant that some of my footage never made it into the commercial (my apologies to the rabbits who didn't get their "fifteen seconds of fame"). The final result is the commercial you can view above, hosted on YouTube. The shelter adored the final project and asked me if they could display it on their web site, which I was thrilled to agree to.
SKILLS/PROGRAMS USED: Footage was collected, edited, and produced by myself. The main audio track music was provided by AudioBlocks. Permission to film at HRRN was granted by the shelter and filming took place over two (2) days. The video was produced and rendered using Adobe Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder.
