PROJECT DETAILS: I was contacted to assist with the creation of a website that would function as both a portfolio of work (both past and present) and a business inquiry website for a local company. The owner insisted on making the website themselves and they needed guidance and assistance with getting started.
CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS: I offered ease of website creation and updates by way of WordPress or SquareSpace. The owner selected SquareSpace as they have very little knowledge about coding and wanted more of a "drag and drop" setup. This was my first time working entirely in SquareSpace from the very beginning of a website build as opposed to just updating an existing website on SquareSpace. I guided the owner through choosing her domain name and selecting a plan that would accomodate all of the features and functions she wanted on her website. Together we were able to create something that was easy for her to work on during her own time and still allowed me to oversee and guide her when she requested my help.
The final result is still a work in progress as the owner continues to add to her website and will then reach out to me to consult her on adjusting page layouts, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), or how to accomplish something specific as the need arises. I've added additional code for a "Back to Top" button at the bottom of each page and assisting with making sure all pages function and look good in both desktop and mobile view.
SKILLS/PROGRAMS USED: The website was entirely built on SquareSpace. The logo, images and content/copy were provided by OtiumDesigns.com. I worked to fine-tune the logo by adjusting the color, size and transparency for the web.
