Journal 4: Panoramic

November 27, 2018

This assignment required eight raw photos showcasing a view that would be stunning via panoramic. The photos had to be taken individually, at vertical/portrait setting, and in a very wide-open space. I didn’t have any trouble taking the photos, though I needed to ensure that no people or vehicles were duplicated or stretched throughout the view.

I utilized Photoshop’s “Automate Photomerge” function to condense all the images into one panoramic photo. After the program was done, I cropped the image to remove any bends in the tops and bottoms of the finished photo. I adjusted the levels overall to make the photo more balanced, then I increased the vibrancy by 30 and the saturation by 10 to increase the pop of color provided by the setting sun.

After the panoramic photo below, a journal entry will be found containing all the meta data from the camera at the time of the photograph, as well as any comments or concerns I had.

Formal

Comments and Concerns: Texas in autumn has some of the most beautiful skies. The photo was capturing the late autumn look before the winter sets in. The grass is starting to hibernate and turn brown, and the leaves on the trees are starting to change colors as well. The pond reflecting the setting sun is reminiscent of the feeling of shorter days and the chill present in the air.
